Isabelle is 10 years old and needs braces for her teeth. But whether or not the middle-class family can afford the additional dental copayment is uncertain. “It can’t be right,” says her mother, “that my daughter is supposed to grow up with crooked teeth just because the paychecks aren’t enough anymore!” The documentary S.O.S. MIDDLE CLASS (original title: S.O.S. MITTELSCHICHT) asks just how badly the middle class is actually doing.
