On average, every German goes shopping three times a week. But at a closer look, what actually lands in the shopping cart and why? The documentary SUPERMARKT SEDUCTION (original title: VERFÜHRER SUPERMARKT) dives into the world behind the supermarket shelves. It shows how the retail trade tricks and deceives using bogus packaging and covert price increases, and reveals rarely known approaches from the marketing research sector.

VOICES OF THE PRESS

“Informative – and above all entertaining. (…) As a result of the many facts and the blend of topics from everything that has to do with foods and the supermarket, this episode of ‛45 Min.’ was well-invested time.”
(Holsteinischer Courier)

“Very little of what the filmmakers bring together here is new, albeit new correlations emerge from the way it’s clustered. Because the research they conducted was distinctly more extensive than comparable magazine articles. It allows them to point out causes and offer problem-solving suggestions.”
(Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung)
