WAGE SLAVES IN GERMANY

(29 min., NDR/ARD broadcasting networks, 2009)

Subcontracted labor has to be cheap and constantly available: that’s what the industry demands. Yet these workers are plainly cheated time and again: on bonuses, money for overtime or, when fired, the period paid by law before their work ends. Following long phases of research the authors were allowed to film at a temporary employment agency in Bremerhaven, Germany for their feature WAGE SLAVES IN GERMANY (original title: LOHNSKLAVEN IN DEUTSCHLAND). An absolute exception to the rule.
